For all our bespoke driving courses in Lichfield, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – The closest motorway to Lichfield is the M6, linked via the A51 and the A5 and is a hectic route, and driving safely on faster roads is essential if you need to travel any distance quickly across the UK. Motorway driving has a set of challenges unlike other roads, the speed and extra lanes of traffic can be worrying for many drivers, and some drivers will avoid motorways, often adding hours to their journeys. Advanced driver training for motorways is simple to arrange and has helped many drivers feel calm and composed, and with driving systems such as IPSGA – information, planning, speed, gear and acceleration. Most accidents on motorways tend to happen near junctions, and this can be down to slow speeds when joining and moving across lanes quickly for fear of missing an exit – plus many other situations. With some extra training, you will understand motorway driving and put many fears to rest.

Rural Roads – Lichfield is surrounded by open countryside with miles of rural roads to travel, and although rural roads can be very picturesque, they can also be hazardous with very few warning signs or speed cameras, along with much less streetlighting. Rural accidents tend to be quite severe, and unfortunately, many young drivers suffer the most harm. The A5190 towards Burntwood and the A51 leading through Brereton and Rugeley have seen many accidents that may have been avoided with better observations and less speed. A lack of speed cameras will always carry the temptation to speed in quiet areas. If you are unfamiliar with the roads you are travelling, hidden dips and harsh corners may lead to catastrophic outcomes if you’re not planning and observing correctly.

Urban Training – The city of Lichfield is surrounded by the A5192 and the Western Bypass, and many accidents have occurred in the past few years on these roads. Urban driving can be frustrating and often slow-moving in rush hour traffic, and often it is driver impatience that is the cause of many issues. You must be aware of your entire surroundings by using well-timed mirror observations and indicating in good time so that other drivers are aware of your intentions. With some training, you can better anticipate other drivers’ actions, especially if they are not indicating.

Remember – All of our on-road driving courses are bespoke to your own needs. This relates to both business and private customers
