We have a range of courses designed to help drivers of all ages, experience and budgets:

1 x 3.5hr course – Designed for companies training drivers back to back, or if a private client wants a short session, with a view to a longer course, or just to have a taster to our courses

2 x 3.5hr sessions -If you don’t want a 7hr session but more than a 3.5hr session, this course is great – lots of learning can take place on these courses, which are suited to drivers who need time to reflect after a course. Also ideal if a driver gets tired quickly or who simply doesn’t want a 7hr session.

1 x 7hr session – This is an intensive session and great for those that want to get a course completed in one day. Ideal if you are pushed for time.

3,4 or 5 x 3.5hr sessions – These courses are for those, mostly private customers, that want a more in-depth, longer-term training plan.

Benefits of our courses:

* Reduced insurance
* Lower fuel costs
* Improved company reputation
* Morale boost for drivers

Remember – All of our on-road driving courses are bespoke to your own needs. This relates to both business and private customers

For all our bespoke driving courses in Leeds, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – Several motorways serve Leeds, the M1, the M62 and the M621; using these routes, we have helped many drivers become more confident when using motorways. There are specific driving systems that can help with motorway driving, for example, IPSGA – (Information, planning, speed, gear and acceleration), and help to understand the regulations of Smart Motorways and how to enter end exit the junctions at the correct speed. It is not just the actual motorways that worry drivers; it can be the large urban roundabouts leading to motorway slip roads and knowing which lane to be in for your exit. For unconfident drivers, motorways can be stressful. Still, with some extra training, you will find that driving on faster roads will give you the freedom to travel across the UK quickly and directly using motorway routes.

Rural Roads – Leeds is a very built-up area, but within a few miles of the centre, you will find beautiful countryside waiting to be explored. Rural driving has a set of issues unlike other roads, from seasonal changes, such as flooding, or taking extra care in farming areas and looking out for horse riders and cyclists. For example, the Harrogate Road and lanes between Harewood and Collingham have seen many nasty accidents. Unfortunately, the younger drivers taking risks with speed always come to the most harm on these roads. With very few signs, street lights, and a lack of speed cameras, the temptation to speed is much higher than on other routes. Combined with the fact rural roads can be hard to drive on – it can be a recipe for disaster. With some specialist training for rural driving, you can learn to observe the road much better with improved planning, car control and awareness.

Urban Training – Leeds is a vast urban area with many busy roads to navigate into and around the city centre. The A61 and the M621 ring road is extremely busy during rush hours and is littered with accident sites, very similar to the large urban roundabout at the A653 junction. Travelling safely in urban environments needs patience and great observation. Most drivers are trying to get to their destination quickly, and a slight lack of patience can cause chaos and can result in road closures and costly insurance claims.

During a session, we typically look at:

* Forward planning and observation
* Speed Awareness
* Developing a positive attitude towards safer driving
* How to become a safer driver on all roads
* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions
