With our advanced driving courses, we try and vary the roads where training is delivered – the typical split is usually on motorways, rural roads and urban driving. We tend to find this provides the best learning environment possible – as opposed to just sticking with one road type.

Remember – All of our on-road driving courses are bespoke to your own needs. This relates to both business and private customers

During a session, we typically look at:

* Forward planning and observation
* Speed Awareness
* Developing a positive attitude towards safer driving
* How to become a safer driver on all roads
* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions

Our courses do vary in structure, although we have a number of courses based on duration:

* 3.5hr session
* 7hr session
* 2 x 3.5hr sessions
* 3 x 3.5hr sessions
* 4 x 3.5r sessions
* 5 x 3.5hr sessions

Deciding to use us for your driver training needs comes with a number of advantages that include:

* One-to-one driver training
* Full UK coverage
* We only use DVSA-registered fleet/advanced driving instructors
* You have a personal account manager to arrange your courses and look after you before, during and after a course
* All training is bespoke to the driver’s needs and requirements
* Full reporting for each driver, which measures their driving before and after the training

For all our bespoke driving courses in Humberside, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – Humberside contains two motorways, the M62 running across the north of the river Humber and the M180 south of the river. The M180 merges into the A180 and continues towards Grimsby, and the M62 merges into the A63 and the A1033 towards the coast and Withernsea. There are many reasons that people want to take motorway confidence courses, from help with knowing what the correct lane you should be in for your exit, helping to stop being boxed in by lorries and helping to make you much more confident when driving at speed and understanding the smart motorway systems.

Rural Roads – Humberside is littered with many small and narrow rural roads, for example, the lanes between the M63 to the A1079 at Market Weighton and the roads from the Humber bridge and into Scunthorpe, many of which are used in rural road training with us if you’re in that area (plus many more). These rural roads are ideal for helping with all aspects of driving, especially for knowing your spatial awareness and understanding the rules about rural road driving. Rural roads are particularly challenging, especially in farming areas where there may be mud on the roads, animals loose or very tight bendy lanes. Although many of these roads in Humberside are very picturesque, they can also account for most accidents across the county, so you must know how to navigate them safely.

Urban Training – Hull is the largest town across Humberside, and the A1033 crosses just beside the city centre. From here, you can travel through to Beverley. An advanced driver training course would be ideal for these areas. We can create a bespoke course taking in your most problematic areas. Urban driving is where you must be most vigilant as it is not only other vehicles on the roads you must consider but also pedestrians and cyclists. Lots of new traffic calming is being implemented across Humberside, which will mean new routes and confusing junctions that you may not be used to. Confidence when driving in busy urban areas is a skill that can be understood quite easily with the proper training. It can help you save fuel and increase your overall driving ability too.
