* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions

Our courses are designed to be flexible and to adapt to the needs of the driver – unlike other providers, we don’t offer a rigid training plan, but a session that is designed to get the very best out of the driver.

For all our bespoke driving courses in Farnborough, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – The M3 crosses Farnborough to the north and joins the A331 to the A31 a Tongham, and this route has been used to help drivers become more confident with motorway driving. There are many aspects of motorway driving that can be very stressful, especially if you do not use them regularly, from understanding how to move across lanes with clear indications and leaving a space bubble around your vehicle in case of sudden slowing of the traffic, to perfecting the entering and exiting of motorway junctions at speed. We can help you. Motorway accidents tend to be more severe than other roads due to the rate of speed of vehicles.

Rural Roads – Many drivers in the Farnborough area will use rural roads as it’s surrounded by large expanses of country roads and lanes, and using them safely can be vital, especially if you are unfamiliar with your route. Looking at the B3102 towards Brookwood and Mychett Road, there have been many severe and often fatal accidents along these routes, but with better observations and understanding of rural driving techniques, you can learn to stay safe and avoid distressing incidents. As rural roads tend to have less streetlighting and few signs, it is easy to find yourself in trouble, especially on single-track lanes where you may need to reverse to allow other drivers to pass. Many accidents can be avoided by learning how to hold back on winding roads for better observations and keeping a safe speed.

Urban Training – The centre of Farnborough is mainly pedestrianised, but the outlying streets contain one-way systems and ring roads with many traffic light junctions and roundabouts to navigate. The A327 and the A325 ring road to the south of the town are strewn with accident sites. They appear to be near junctions and roundabouts and are possibly the result of inpatient drivers not paying enough attention to their surrounding and moving without clear indications. Using good advanced driver techniques, such as better forward planning and good mirror procedures, will ensure that you can see and can be seen, and this alone can help build confidence on busy urban routes.
