How We Are Different

Some time ago, we noticed that in a world where many things can be bespoke to your needs and arranged conveniently online, the driver training industry fell short. Despite the vital importance of improving road safety, it simply was not that easy to find high-quality, bespoke driver training to cater for your own specific needs and requirements. This is where we come in.

We provide driver training for both business clients and private individuals. Whether you are looking at a comprehensive training plan for many drivers or just a few, we can help you.

We cover Derby + All of the UK – We come to you for the training:

We provide bespoke advanced/defensive driver training to companies and private individuals using our national network of DVSA-registered advanced driving instructors.

For all our bespoke driving courses in Derby, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – The M1 lies to the east of Derby and is linked via the A52 and the Derby Southern Bypass. Using routes such as these, we have helped many drivers become more confident when using the motorway systems. If you are in a position where you now need to drive on motorways more often for work purposes, then having some extra tuition for the fast, busy motorway routes is a great idea. By using some simple advanced driver techniques such as better forward planning and observations and introducing driving systems such as IPSGA – information, planning, speed, gears and acceleration, you can start to use the motorway safely and confidently. Many drivers worry about using motorways due to the speed of travel, but statistically, motorway driving is one of the safest ways to drive and with more confidence, you can start to travel further afield using direct routes.

Rural Roads – Derby is surrounded by beautiful open countryside with many miles of rural roads to travel, but although very picturesque, rural roads can be treacherous for drivers who are unfamiliar with them or familiar with them but drive too fast without proper planning and observation. Minor rural roads can be very narrow and winding and so by using some great driving techniques, you can remain safer in hazardous situations. When taking drivers out on rural roads, we use a system called the ‘limit point’. This allows you to drive more confidently on bendy roads and help you to maintain a reasonable speed without harsh barking on corners. The rural roads to the west of Derby, such as the triangle of rural roads between the A52 and the A516, are littered with crash sites, very similar to the Kedleston Road linking to Weston Underwood to the north of the city. We have used such routes to hone rural driving skills for many drivers to become more confident when driving in open countryside.

Urban Training – The A601, Lara Croft Way, and Ford Street ring road surround the centre of Derby are full of multi-lane traffic light systems and roundabouts, which can be stressful, especially in rush hours. Many accidents have been seen in and around the urban centre of Derby. We have helped many drivers become more vigilant when using urban roads. Although accidents in urban areas can be less severe due to lower speeds, they can be very chaotic and upsetting if you find yourself caught up in one. Most accidents on busy town roads are due to a lack of patience and not having good all-around observations, so better mirror work and indications are vital for staying safe in urban environments. With some easy to learn techniques, you will be able to travel confidently in any urban area. This is very beneficial if you have to use them for work or delivery purposes.

Remember – All of our on-road driving courses are bespoke to your own needs. This relates to both business and private customers

Bespoke training

Our bespoke training is what separates us from other training providers. The thought of a rigid tick box, one size fits all driving course fills us with dread. They’re uninspiring, boring and rarely get the most from a driver. We look at training the same way we look at our customers, whether business or private; each one is unique. Every driver is different with regards to driving, based on both internal and external elements. Internal elements are things such as personality type, attitudes, and concentration. External elements are things such as years of driving experience, mileage covered, positive and negative experiences etc.
.

Our courses do alter in their delivery, although we have a number of courses based on time. These are outlined below:

* 7hr session
* 2 x 3.5hr sessions
* 3 x 3.5hr sessions
