Advanced & Defensive Driving Courses Bath

We provide a range of fully bespoke driving courses to companies and individuals across the UK. We have a helpful and adaptable approach to training and have a real passion for improving driving standards and road safety in the UK.

We currently help a number of companies and private individuals in and around the city of Bath, who want to improve their driving with an advanced driving course. We have a number of advanced driving tutors based in and around Bath who can provide both a half-day or full-day course.

We cover Bath + All of the UK – We come to you for the training:

No two drivers are the same, which is why we have created a range of course options to fit your needs.

3.5hr – Mostly opted for by business customers, when training a number of drivers back to back. It’s also open to private customers too who only need a shorter course. The 3.5hr course is our shortest course available.

3.5hr x 2 – If you don’t fancy a full day but want to cover more than a 3.5hr session, then this split course is great. The 2 sessions can be split over a few days or weeks. Sometimes we can run this course over 2 days.

7hr full day – Intensive in it’s nature. But is a great way to get the course done in one day. It’s certainly tiring but a great option for those pressed for time.

We have more specialist courses for drivers – 3,4,5 x 3.5hr courses. Mainly designed for private customers but also open to business clients for specific at-risk drivers.

Our advanced driving courses are designed to significantly improve the standard of driving of an individual, regardless of their level of experience. We can help coach drivers who drive 30,000+ miles a year who may have many years of experience. Equally, we also have a vast level of experience in helping drivers with limited driving experience, maybe they are newly qualified or are new to the UK.

Remember – We build all our driving courses from scratch, and are built around your specific needs. This applies to both business and private customers, all over the UK.

Our courses take place on three main types of roads in and around Bath:

Urban Driving – Depending on your location in Bath, we spend a portion of the course in and around the centre, sometimes moving towards Newbridge, or Chelsea Road or similar depending on traffic.

Urban driver training in Bath places a real focus on speed awareness, cyclists, pedestrians and how to deal with traffic and various lanes.

Rural Driving – We always head out of the centre of Bath for rural training. Rural roads are dangerous compared to other roads due to the challenging nature of them. This is why a large proportion of our courses involve these types of roads. We often head south from Bath on the A367 towards Radstock, often heading off onto B and unclassified roads.

We sometimes continue to head south towards Shepton Mallet. The rural roads to Chippenham are probably the most challenging and so depending on the location we can head out towards this area…Heading towards Chippenham also puts us on a good route to join the M4 – ideal for motorway training…

Motorway Driving – Although relatively safe roads, they are fast and require good observation and planning. Our motorway training from Bath uses the M4. Following the rural element to the training where we often head north, we join the M4 usually at the A46/M4 junction near Dodington Ash, sometimes we head towards Bristol or east towards the Swindon area. On occasions, we head south/south-east for rural training, and pick up the M5 and head north back.  With motorway training, we focus on planning and anticipation and help the driver with the specific rules of motorways – essential when driving vans and larger vehicles.

During a session we typically look at:

* Forward planning and observation
* Speed awareness
* Developing a positive attitude towards safer driving
* How to become a safer driver on all roads
* Car or van control (gears, steering, foot controls, signals)
* Rules of the road
* Dealing with road rage
* Reversing and manoeuvres
* Dealing with adverse weather
* Town and urban defensive driving
* Driving in heavy traffic and allowing adequate space
* Skid control theory and learning what causes skids
* Eco-safe driving (effective use of speed, gears, planning)
* Anticipation – Learning to see and not just look
* Understanding other road users and their intentions
