For all our bespoke driving courses in Basingstoke, we provide training on a range of roads and different areas, which can include:

Motorway training – Basingstoke is served by the M3 running north to east between junctions 6 and 7, and this is an ideal area to undertake further motorway driving training. There are many reasons that a driver would need motorway training; perhaps they are new drivers or drivers who have lost confidence in the motorway systems due to an accident. No two drivers are the same regarding motorway anxiety, and we can create a bespoke course tailored to your exact needs, even taking in some of your most worrying journeys during the course sessions. Entering and exiting the motorway at speed is a common issue, and learning how to avoid being blocked in by large HGVs or tall vans where you cannot see ahead is also a skill we can teach you. By using advanced driving systems such as IPSGA (information, planning, gears, speed and acceleration) and helping with better forward planning and observations, we can ensure that you feel confident when using the motorways or any other fast dual-carriageway systems.

Rural Roads – Basingstoke is a bustling town surrounded by beautiful open countryside, and we have helped many drivers feel safer when using these minor roads. If we look at the roads between Overton and Kingsclere, for example, the B0351, there are many accident sites, and lots have been severe. This is very similar to the roads between Sherbourne St John and Bramley. Unfortunately, rural roads often produce severe collisions, and they tend to be the younger drivers that come to the most harm. There is very little signage or street lighting; the roads are windy, plus there are hardly any speed cameras, so the temptation to speed is high. If you are unfamiliar with rural driving, there are many things to learn, such as the ”Limit Point”, a driving system for winding and bendy rural roads. This has been proven to reduce accidents, especially on minor country roads and single-track lanes.

Urban Training – Basingstoke has seen many collisions in the town centre’s busy roads, especially Churchill Way and Winchester road. The large urban roundabouts and multilane traffic light junctions can cause the most worry, but some advanced driver training for urban roads can help immensely. Although most collisions tend to happen at lower speeds and at junctions where there are impatient drivers not paying enough attention to their surroundings, many of them could have been avoided by better mirror work. Leaving adequate spaces between yourself and other vehicles and paying better attention to pedestrians and cyclists who are also using the busy road networks, especially during rush hours helps. Urban driving is a skill that will help delivery drivers and drivers who have lost confidence in busy town driving. During a course, we will be able to take you into busy urban areas to increase your confidence and leave you being able to navigate almost any situation where great observations and forward planning techniques are a must.

Our advanced driving courses are designed to improve drivers by:

* Helping them gain a better level of car control
* Helping them forward plan and anticipate (this is often why many collisions occur!)
* Providing them with a better understanding of the laws and rules of the road.
* Assist them with confronting and overcoming their own issues – often bad habits which have formed over many years.

Our training is highly flexible and can be designed for just one or two drivers or an entire workforce.
