We offer advanced and other bespoke driving courses in Cheshire for a range of companies and private customers who want to make a positive change for themselves and/or their drivers. Due to our training’s bespoke nature, we have a driving course ideal for everyone. While many of our courses for business and private customers overlap, all courses are available to either.

Cheshire has a diverse range of roads, including motorways such as the M53, M56, and M6, as well as a variety of A and B roads. With our advanced driving courses, we aim to cover as many roads as possible within the given time frame. Training can be on a 2:1 or 1:1 basis. The 2:1 format is the most popular, involving one tutor accompanying one driver for 3.5 hours in the morning and then another in the afternoon for the same duration. Each delegate taking our advanced driving course will receive a comprehensive driving report via email after completing the course.
This is great for their own feedback and also for their HR file to document your Duty of Care. Unlike other companies, this is completed in full by the tutor who conducted the training. To date, we have provided driving courses to companies and private customers in Cheshire, including Warrington, Chester, Runcorn, and the surrounding areas closer to Manchester.

Motorway training – There are several busy motorways in Cheshire that we have utilised during driver training, such as the M6, which runs from Preston to Stoke-on-Trent, and the M53 and M56, which join at Ellesmere Port. Motorway driving has its own specific set of skills to consider, and we have helped many drivers gain more confidence when using busy motorways. With the extra lanes, multi-junctions, higher speeds, the possibility of being stuck behind large lorries, and the worry of missing a junction, there are many factors to consider when using motorways. Using the M6 as a practice route, we will demonstrate how to maintain your speed when joining from a slip road, slow down at an exit junction, and keep a steady speed, all while being able to notice quickly if your speed creeps over the speed limit. Being a confident motorway driver is paramount if you wish to gain quick access to the rest of the UK, and with a little extra driver training, you will be able to do so with complete confidence in your driving abilities.
Rural Roads – Much of Cheshire is rural, and unfortunately, statistics show that most serious accidents are in rural areas, far more than on motorways or in urban areas. The A530 from Nantwich to Middlewich has seen many accidents, some fatal, much like the A354 from Acton to Ridley. Knowing how to drive confidently on rural roads is a skill that can be taught with extra training. Unless you are used to driving on rural roads, they can be especially hazardous, especially at certain times of the year when there could be flooding, ice or fallen trees. During the summer and autumn months, there may be increased farming traffic on rural lanes, which can cause problems with mud on the road or hay falling from a tractor load, or tourists navigating the roads with large caravans or campervans unfamiliar with the area. Knowing how to reverse safely on a single-track lane and avoiding potholes and covered ditches are just a few examples of training and learning about specific driving systems, such as the ‘Limit Point’, which helps with navigating windy roads and lanes with limited signage or street lighting.
Urban Training – Driving in busy urban settings can present numerous challenges, especially during rush hours or school run times. Drivers are far more impatient at these times, and knowing how to anticipate other drivers’ actions is a must. With many more pedestrians and cyclists, town driving can be stressful and hazardous if you are not fully aware of your surroundings at all times. The centre of Crewe, for example, has seen many collisions, although not as many fatalities as the surrounding country roads. Knowing how to drive well in urban settings can be taught quickly. Many accidents in the Crewe area occur along Dunwoody Way, the A5078, which merges into the A352 near the town centre and the Memorial Square Roundabout, linking the A352. We don’t just cover Crewe, but it’s a good example of what things can go wrong and where. These are all busy areas and require extra thought when using them. With better mirror use, leaving enough space between yourself and the vehicle in front, and learning how to gauge what other drivers think when approaching junctions or changing lanes, is a skill that cannot be emphasised enough.

3.5hr – Around 30% opt for this course. The benefits of this course are that it’s the lowest priced, and is only 3.5 hours, the disadvantages are that for some drivers it’s too short. Ideal mainly for companies training 4 or more drivers.
2 x 3.5hr – This is advantageous for customers who can’t drive for 7 hours and need the split to reflect. Often, a driver receives homework for this session, allowing them to practice what was taught in Session 1 and prepare for Session 2.
7-hour full day – Although it is hard work for some, a full day is cheaper than two 3.5-hour sessions. It’s good for those who are short on time. Maybe your company has asked you to do this course, or maybe you feel a 7-hour course will work better for you. Talk with us if you are unsure. You can read more about our course durations here.
We understand that not all drivers want half, full, or two half days. Some need or want longer. That is why we offer 3, 4, and 5 x 3.5-hour sessions. These courses are often run over a few weeks and are mostly designed for drivers who have significant issues, such as a driving phobia or need confidence training after a serious road traffic collision.
