Drivers Domain UK.com are
again entering a Peugeot 205 GTI (classic hot hatch of the 1980's)
in the:
Morris Lubricants 2008
Loton Park Championship.
Having done this championship
since 2005 (different sponsors each year), we have captured the
interest of many thousands of car fans around the world, along with
coverage in major national motoring magazines in the UK. who have
been following our progress.
The Car:
Peugeot 205 1.9 GTI 16v
Registration: H447 FVC
Year: 1990
As you will have probably
guessed, our car is far from standard! The modifications include
fully stripping the inside of the car. It is now over 100kg lighter
than standard 205GTI - weighing in at around 820kg. It has a 16v
head on it, twin Weber carbs with a fully balanced bottom end, knife
edged crank and forged rods and pistons with rally cams. It has
a Tran-X Plate type LSD, Group A oil pump, roll cage, uprated anti
roll bars and ultra soft tyres, polycarbonate windows, along with
many other tweeks to make it quick and safe on the track.
The car makes around 200bhp
- some 70bhp more than the standard car.

In everyday terms this
car would be about as quick around a tight track as a tweeked BMW
M3/Impreza Turbo thanks to its power to weight ratio being around
250bhp a tonne.
