Fleet Driver Training, Fleet Driving

Drivers Domain UK Fleet Driver, is a resource section, which aims to raise awareness of the issues facing fleet drivers, fleet managers and employers alike.

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 employers have a statutory duty which means, they are required to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all employees at work. This also includes any driving activity on the road. In addition to this, under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, equipment used at work must be safe and suitable for the task.

The Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007 (2007 c. 19) is an Act of Parliament that seeks to broaden the law on corporate manslaughter in the United Kingdom. The Act creates a new offence respectively named corporate manslaughter, in England and Wales and Northern Ireland, and corporate homicide in Scotland.

Businesses need to act now to ensure they have taken the necessary duty of care to ensure their workforce are safe whilst at work - including driving.
