Woman vs Male Drivers
Woman vs Male Drivers who are the best?– Every driver should strive to constantly improve their driving ability. The key areas that defines a driver is their strategic ability, their tactical ability and operational ability:
Strategic Ability.
Attitude – Seeing safe driving and road safety as of paramount importance.
Responsibility – Having the knowledge and respect for the rules of the road. Having the safety and wellbeing of all road users in mind whilst driving reflects responsibility.
Sense of Danger – How acute a drivers sense of danger determines how good they are as a driver. Too stronger sense of danger can create over cautious driving, whilst too weaker sense of danger expose the driver to greater risks.

Tactical Ability.
Concentration – Having the ability to concentrate fully on the road ahead and be aware of what is going on around them.
Anticipation – Being able to anticipate the actions of other road users and seeing situations unfold and react to them effectively.
Patience – Accepting that there are road users of different abilities and standards. Accepting this and been able to stay calm at all times.
Operational Ability.
Confidence – Knowing when to make progress but also knowing when to exercise caution and hold back.
Spatial Awareness – Having the ability to manoeuvre a vehicle safely, accurately and under control.
Physical Control – Being able drive a vehicle on a range of roads, in a range of conditions, at different speeds skillfully and under complete control.
What type of driver is good at each of the above?
This can and indeed does vary. However, we have tried to group general motoring types who tend to show a bias towards a specific driving ability:
Strategic Ability - Older drivers, often females who have had many years motoring experience and see the potential dangers and consequences of bad driving more than others.
Tactical Ability - Generally males aged 40+ who are above average in terms of driver skill. Advanced police drivers would be perhaps the most skilled drivers in this group, as their job requires them to drive quickly, but be able to stay safe by understanding what is happening around them, and being able to anticipate and plan far ahead - constantly.
Operational Ability - Mainly young male drivers who are well co-ordinated, enjoy driving, great spatial awareness, quick reactions.

So you can see at a glance the components of what makes a good driver. However, the way us humans have been designed, the fact that males and females have different mind sets and ages means the perfect driver does not exist.
Females for example are less risk prone to taking risks then men, which qualifies them more to the strategic ability sector, while young men, tend to excel in the operational ability area of driving with their quick reactions and spatial awareness. However, they also lack strategic ability which is one of the reasons why, although they are good drivers technically, the crash more than an older woman motorist! Have you ever wondered why F1 drivers are men aged 21-35..?
If we were to stick our necks on the line and say which is the most important, we feel it would probably be tactical ability - as with driving, concentration and anticipation rule.
So, who are the best drivers? Working on the basis that the car is an invention designed to transport people safely from A to B quicker than on foot or by horse and cart, then women are better drivers - why? As they tend to have a higher level of strategic skill then men, based on the way their minds are hard wired. Although they are not technically better than men, the fact they think of the consequences of their actions and take fewer risks means they crash less and kill fewer people....forget the jokes that they can't park etc...the simple fact is that being a bad parker rarely kills people - driving too fast does!
Better (Road Driving) = Respect for the law, understanding consequences of driving too fast, being defensive, anticipating other road users....
Better (Track Driving) = Been able to feel the car, assess the level of grip at any given time, confidence at speed, quick reactions...
Too many people confuse the two above, and that is why the argument about the sexes and driving has gone on for so long...
Remember, we are talking about the average driver here. There are women drivers who will wipe the floor with most men on the track. Likewise there will be men who will be far safer and more cautious than most women...only you know where you fit in.
