Advanced Driving

The basics of advanced driving is to raise the skill level of motorists. However, some people still have an issue with the "typical" advanced driver...so let us help..

The Typical Advanced Driver

1. Of no specific age, although older drivers tend to become advanced drivers more than younger ones. Some are even retired F1 World Champions.

2. Drive a range of cars, but some are owners of very high performance vehicles, and some are owners of basic superminis.

3. Mostly male, but a growing number of females are becoming advanced drivers.

4. Tends to be higher educated than average, with a higher than average income.

Resistance to Learning

Most people are not good at learning from their experiences. When relating this to driving, a large number of people fail to learn after they have caused an accident. They often somehow believe that they were not responsible for the accident and so, therefore have nothing to learn from the experience.

The sad fact is that people involved in an accident for which they were the cause, are around three times more likely to be involved in the same type of accident again in the following years...mainly because they have failed to learn the error of their ways.

Advanced driving focuses on learning from experiences, both positive and negative and to overcome this resistance to learning to become better drivers.

We tend to find a number of people booking advanced driving courses with us have done so after an accident or a number of near misses.
